Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis release date is revealed; quarter estimate shuffling needed.
This is a quick flash comment about PlayStation's State of Play and the announcement of the release date for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, one of Embracer's core upcoming AAA releases.
During PlayStation's State of Play, the release date for one of Embracer's major AAA titles was revealed. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will be released on February 12, 2027.
The trailer during SoP revealed new gameplay content, and our first impression is that it looks very good.
In Embracer’s Q4’25/26 presentation, Tomb Raider was stated to be planned during calendar 2026. What happened between the Q4 presentation and this announcement? On May 21, just 1 day after the release of the Q4 report, Take-Two officially confirmed the launch of GTA VI on November 19, 2026.

It’s likely that the reason for the “delay” of Tomb Raider is just tactically to not release the game close to the mega mastodon of a game that GTA VI is. On top of that, Wolverine (which looks insanely good btw) is set for release on September 15, 2026. So the release schedule is rather competitive in H2, to say the least.
The consequence
In our view, this is the correct decision. However, the consequences will obviously be some reshuffling among analyst for their quarterly projections.

Maybe even some upward revision due to the less competitive time period? We will see. The game will still be released during the current fiscal year (26/27), so the full-year effect will be limited.h
