The Market Bought the Review Bomb. Unwarranted.
Yesterday, Coffee Stain's Ghost Ship Games released Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core into Early Access on Steam, and the shares sold off roughly 5% on what looked like a weak reception. The headline Steam user score of 62% across 3,753 reviews hides a sharp regional split: 497 Chinese reviews at 13%, concentrated on pricing complaints and DRG-comparison gripes that miss the roguelite framing the studio has telegraphed for months, against 2,002 English reviews at 70%. CCU peaked at 42.2k. We worked through the substance of the regional complaints, applied the standard review-to-copies-sold proxy, and mapped the implied Q2 launch contribution against the current SEK 301m consensus (Q4 baseline: SEK 234m). What the tape priced and what the data shows are not the same thing.
